Why does Chris give back to heroes?
It is personal. Chris was born two and a half months early with severe asthma, spent many weekends in emergency rooms, and had paramedics come to his house; he says first responders are the reason he is still here. His first published book is dedicated to his high school English teacher.
He also comes from a military family. Chris tried to serve but was turned down because of his asthma, and in a 2025 video he shares that his son is in the U.S. Marine Corps. For VA loan basics, see the veteran home buyer guide.
How does the hero benefit work when you buy?
In Chris’s videos, the buyer benefit is a credit at the close of escrow, applied toward your closing costs. Your lender has to allow it, and Chris explains it cannot be used toward the down payment. He mentions costs like a home warranty as examples of what it can help cover.

Is there a benefit when a hero sells?
Yes. In Chris’s videos, when a hero lists and sells with him, the thank-you is applied to the seller’s net proceeds at closing by reducing his commission. If you are selling one home and buying another with him, Chris has said he applies the option that puts more money in your pocket.
